With deep love and sorrow, we share the passing of Bruce Cotney Martin, who departed this life on October 16, 2025, at the age of 63. Bruce was a devoted son, brother, uncle, friend, and man of faith whose kind heart and steady presence touched everyone who knew him.

Born on July 9, 1962, Bruce was preceded in death by his parents, W. Harold Martin and Daisy Cotney Martin. He is survived by his sister, Harriet Martin Sespico (Eric); nephews Zachary Martin Sespico (Rosalyn) and Jacob Paul Sespico; and many extended family members and close friends who loved him dearly.

A 1980 graduate of Gainesville High School, Bruce was a true jack-of-all-trades, with a gifted hand in auto and machine repair, roofing, tiling, and countless other skills. He took pride in hard work and craftsmanship, always willing to lend a hand to those in need.

Bruce had an abiding love for animals, especially his beloved dog, Thanos, who was by his side until the very end. The two were inseparable and shared both day to day life activities and quiet companionship.

His faith was the cornerstone of his life. Bruce was a faithful member of the Newberry Church of Christ in Newberry, Florida, where he also served with dedication as a member of the Board of Trustees. His church family held a special place in his heart, and he found joy and purpose in serving his congregation, especially leading singing.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, October 26, 2025, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Newberry Church of Christ in Newberry, FL. A celebration of Bruce's life will follow at 3:00 pm. All who knew Bruce are warmly invited to attend and celebrate the life of a man who gave so much to others.
