Mrs. Bunny Melissa Sellers-Bates, age 43 of Lawtey, was taken by God to rest in Christ Jesus eternally on November 27, 2021. Born on May 12, 1978 in Jacksonville Florida. A dedicated wife, daughter, sister, aunt, granddaughter, niece, cousin, sister-in-law, and friend Bunny lived her life selflessly always serving others in love and will be remembered for her generous and brave heart. She loved the Lord and trusted His perfect plans. She was a creative poet, skilled dancer, amazing chef, had immaculate organizational skills, and a great sense of humor. Regardless of the numerous physical health challenges she faced Bunny always lived her life to the fullest.Bunny is survived by her devoted husband Michael Bates, parents Cathy Nisbet, Walter Sellers, and David Nisbet, sister Nicole Fuentes Sellers, nieces Layacia "Pookie Bear", Leskai "Thumper", and nephew Myron "Little M Octopus", along with many other cherished nieces and nephews, brother & sister-in -laws, an abundance of comical cousins she adored, and a few honorable friends. She is now indeed free like the red bird. Her legacy will live on in our hearts and lives as we take comfort in knowing she is in the absolute safest place anyone could be in, in Christ Jesus eternally. The family will receive friends at the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel on Friday, December 3, 2021 from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon with funeral services beginning at noon.
