Burma Jean Stafford A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Burma Jean Stafford, 88, will be held at 11 am on Monday November 14, 2011 in Greenlawn Cemetery, with Chaplain Sue Barron officiating. Mrs. Stafford passed away on November 9, 2011 at her home in Jacksonville. A lifelong resident of Jacksonville, she was born on September 17, 1923 to Rev. Charlie Wright and Mattie Cruse Wright. Burma worked for the Corps of Engineers in accounting for 32 years. She attended various Baptist Churches throughout Jacksonville during her life. She loved playing cards (especially Bridge), bowling, doing crossword puzzles, reading and traveling. Burma was preceded in death by her husband, Harmon Stafford and by a sister, Iris. She is survived by her loving daughters Faye Joyner, Patsy Ricketson, Lynn Bridges (husband, Eddie) & Michelle Stafford; sister, Sue Barron; brother, John Wright; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and longtime friend, Eunice Lambert.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
