Byron K. Guy

Mr. Byron K. Guy, age 82, of Keystone Heights passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2016 at Haven Hospice Custead Care Center in Orange Park. He was born on August 19, 1933 in Barry County, Michigan to the late Byron and Vida (Skidmore) Guy. Mr. Guy served in the United State Army, and had been a resident of Keystone Heights for 17 years. Prior to his retirement, he was a Broadcast Journalist working for various radio and television stations in Indiana; he also owned and operated a tent rental business. He was a member of Keystone United Methodist Church and he enjoyed singing in the choir, but most of all he loved playing his guitar either with the string band or the jazz band. Mr. Guy also enjoyed sports of all types and gardening. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Iris (Meyers) and their three children, Byron Anthony Guy, Denise Marie Andresen and Sonia Gay Guy along with one brother, Jarrord Allen Guy. Also left behind are six grandchildren, Jennifer, Marie, McKinley, Lucy, Allison, and Jolie and three great grandchildren, Marissa, Kylie and David. A memorial service for Mr. Guy will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 7, 2016 in the Keystone United Methodist Church with Dr. Craig Moore officiating. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be made to Haven Hospice, 745 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL 32065 or Florida United Methodist Childrens Home, 51 Childrens Way, Enterprise, FL 32725.
