Byron Andrews Nelson, a chef, and resident of Gainesville, died unexpectedly at the age of 35 after a car accident in Keystone Heights on June 21, 2015.Byron was born in Gainesville on October 21, 1979. He graduated from Keystone Heights High School in 1998, graduated with an associates of arts degree from Santa Fe College in 2002, and later pursued a degree in Medicine from the University of Florida. He worked as a chef and kitchen manager in Gainesville at the North West Grille.He was a devoted friend, avid golfer, foodie, and Gator Nations greatest fan. He was a lover of all, and loved greatly by all. Wherever Byron went he had a smile on his face, could cheer up any soul, and lit up every room he walked into.Byron is survived by his brothers; Ryan Nelson of Dallas, TX, Christopher Brown of Keystone Heights; sister Traci Zeenburg of Gainesville; his uncle Byron Terwillegar of Melrose; his aunt Sue Szymanski of Millsboro DE, his MeeMee, Linda Boles of Keystone Heights, and her daughters, Twyla Roberts of Lake Butler and Shanee Mishoe of Gainesville. Byron is also survived by numerous cousins from Jacksonville and Delaware. He is preceded in death by his mother, Anne T. Dunn and his father, Herb Nelson along with his aunt, Mary Lou Hartman.A viewing is scheduled from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 25, 2015 in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Daniel Findley officiating. Interment will be at the Keystone Heights Cemetery. A celebration of Byrons life will follow from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Blue Water Bay.
