Mr. James Byron Roberts age 50, of Starke passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 at Shands Starke suddenly. Byron was born in Starke and was a lifelong resident. Prior to retirement he worked as a commercial electrical contractor, was a member of the Local Hall 1205 of the IBEW and attended the First Presbyterian Church as a child. He was preceded in death by his parents Don H. and Jean J. Chitty, a sister Terri Roberts-Ford, and a brother Kenny Chitty. Survivors are: daughters: Christen OConnell (Michael) of Babylon, New York; Anna Johnson (Jay) of Jacksonville and Jessica Wilkerson of Lawtey; sisters: Kay Padgett (the late Kenneth) and Marie Melton (Otis) both of Bradford County; Janice Steiner of Panama City; brothers: Tom Brown of Starke and David Roberts (Robyn) of Altamonte Springs; Jerry Chitty (Regina) of Waterflow, New Mexico; four grandchildren. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 12:00 noon in the First Presbyterian Church, 921 E. Call St. in Starke.
