Obituary

Cameron Faye Graham Thomas, beloved mother, nana, and friend, joined her husband of fifty-four years, Jimmy, in Heaven on March 29, 2025 at the age of seventy-two.

Cammie, was born to Charles Newell and Dessie Dell (Boggs) Graham on June 10, 1952 at Fort Jackson in Columbia, South Carolina. She grew up with her three brothers—Terry, Charlie, and Robin. Her family was stationed in Germany and the Panama Canal Zone before moving to and calling Gainesville, Florida home. She graduated from Gainesville High School in 1970.

While in high school, she met Jimmy. The two married in 1970. They built a house and home in Waldo, Florida where they raised their three children—Whitney Brooke, Sydney Lane, and James Seth. This town provided a church where Cammie would come to know Jesus as her Savior and a place she would find friends who became more like family. Later, their house would fill with more love as their family grew with spouses and grandchildren. She loved preparing for and spending holidays with her loved ones, especially Christmas. Cameron loved her children, their spouses, grandchildren, and extended family with an infectious love and a giving heart.

Cameron stayed home with her children in their younger years, but went to school later in life to become a registered nurse. She worked twenty-two years at Shands as an oncology nurse where she loved caring for her patients and working alongside her colleagues.

Cameron is survived by her children—Whitney McCallister (Billy), Sydney Russell (Justin), and Seth Thomas (Susan); her grandchildren—Trent, Kylie, Ethan, Baylie, Tison, Nolan, and Noah; along with extended family members and those she counted as family.
