Mr. Carl "Steve" Beard, age 79, of Melrose, Florida passed away at his home on Sunday January 18, 2026. He was born on January 11, 1947, in Angola, Indiana, to the late Carl J. and June (Love) Beard.

Steve spent his working career as a warranty rep and later on as a steel buyer with Dana Spicer Clutch Division, where he was known for his dedication, skill, and strong work ethic.

Steve enjoyed fishing, bird watching, and spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. He had fond memories and frequently shared tales of adventures he had shared throughout his life with his lifelong friend, Tracey Stroh.

He is survived by his son, Scott Beard (Nikki) of Keystone Heights; daughters, Kelly Sue Beard of Pearce, Arizona and Kimberly Ann Powell (Jim) of

Leigh, Nebraska. He was lovingly called "Grandpa Steve" by his 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Indiana, with details to be announced.
