Carlea Joanne Simmons Todd Mctaggart

Mrs. Carlea Joanne Simmons Todd McTaggart, age 70, of Ocala, formerly of Starke passed away on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Palm Gardens in Ocala after an extended illness. Carlea was born in Miami on April 29, 1947 to Carlton J. and Leila (Hines) Simmons. She was a resident of Starke before moving to Ocala in 1997, and was a Revenue Specialist in the Child Support office for the Department of Revenue before retiring in 2004. Carlea was a member of Ocala North Congregation of Jehovahs Witnesses. She enjoyed tracing her familys history through genealogy, knitting, spending time with her family and cheering on the Florida Gators. Carlea will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved her.She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, James W. Todd Jr. Carlea is survived by her husband of 20 years, Donald K. McTaggart of Ocala; son, Jonathan "Eric" Todd of Casa Grande, Arizona; stepchildren, Tammy Green (Paul) of Salt Springs, Amanda Selvidio (Jeff) of Largo, Donald M. McTaggart (Lisa) of Ocala, and R. Darrin McTaggart (Jane) of Ocala; brothers, James "Jim" Simmons (Sue) of DeBary, Carl "Fred" Simmons (Lois) of Clemmons, North Carolina, and John Dale Simmons (Christine) of Orlando; along with twelve grandchildren, and sixteen great grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at DeWitt C. Jones Chapel.
