Carol Longino New

Carol Longino New, 77, went home to be with the Lord on Friday December 2, 2016, after a lengthy struggle with Alzheimers disease.Carol was a Christian, and served for many years as a group leader in Sunday School at downtown First Baptist Church. She was very unselfish, kind and friendly to everyone, and had a great sense of humor.Carol is survived by her devoted husband, Max; a loving daughter, Teresa (Mark) Aldridge; a special sister, Barbara (Jerry) Barr; two grandsons, Josh (Jennie) Register and Timothy Aldridge; two granddaughters, Cindy (Mike) Murphy and Jennifer (Ross) Grant; nine great-grandchildren; a best friend, Linda Frigo; and many other close relatives and friends. Among those preceding Carol in death were her parents, Paul and Voncile Longino and two daughters, Linda New Luke (1992) and Valerie New Register (2008).Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday December 6, in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd, S., with Jack Cummings officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
