A faithful servant of God throughout her life, Carol Jean Mabe Wolfe was born and raised in Bluewell, West Virginia to Lomer and Ruth Mabe. She moved to the Gainesville, Florida region in 1963 and eventually made Hawthorne, Florida her home for more than 40 years.
Throughout her working life, Ms. Wolfe served in several roles within her community, including positions with the University of Florida Police Department, the Alachua County School Board, and Waldo Antique Village. She was also a longtime and devoted member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. She loved plants, hummingbirds, working in the garden, and collected angel figurines. She enjoyed watching college basketball and football. Ms. Wolfe was also a talented crafter and loved to decorate her home for each and every holiday. Many of her Christmas ornaments were ones that she had made throughout the years.
Above all, Ms. Wolfe cherished the people in her life. She was a devoted wife and mother, a beloved sister, a favorite aunt and great-aunt, and a treasured cousin and friend to countless people. Her faith, love for her family, and the relationships she nurtured throughout her life will be a blessing remembered by all who knew and loved her.
