Carolyn H. Davis

Ms. Carolyn H. Davis, age 74, of Grandin passed away on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. Ms. Carolyn was born on February 11, 1944 in Hampton to Carl and Bertha (Wilson) Rhoden. She has been a resident of Grandin since 1983 and attended Hampton Baptist Church. Affectionately known as Mutt to her family and friends, as well as Granny to her grandchildren, Carolyn was a homemaker and loved taking care of her family. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and numerous siblings. She is survived by her devoted and loving companion of 38 years, Herman Mayes of Grandin; her children, John "Clint" Davis (Christy) of Grandin, Cal Davis (Hillary) of Grandin, Clay Davis (Teresa) of Palatka, Priscilla "Dee" Ransom (Albert Jr.) of Hampton, and Dawn Mayes (Chris) of Grandin; and brother, Robert Rhoden (Norma) of Starke. Also left behind are numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family members, and friends.Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 19, 2018 at the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel of Jones- Gallagher Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Orange Heights Baptist Church located at 16700 NE SR 26, Hawthorne, FL 32640 with Pastor Aaron Morgan officiating.
