Mrs. Catherine Edna DeRoeck age 96 of Keystone Heights passed away at her home Tuesday, May 2, 2023. She was born August 17, 1926, in Chicago, Illinois to Charles and Frances (Dion) Morrissey. She was a retired accountant for the City of Glenwood Springs in Colorado and was of the Catholic faith. Mrs. DeRoeck also enjoyed reading and volunteered many hours assisting reading teachers for her great grandsons school. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband of 20 years Leonard DeRoeck. Her survivors are children Leonard DeRoeck (Patricia) of Georgia, Connie Wilmot (Marvin) of Colorado, Mary Gonzales (David) of Florida, Lucy Krause (Michael) of Keystone Heights, John DeRoeck of Colorado, and Eileen Parker (Robert) of Florida. Also left behind are two brothers Ed Morrissey and Patrick Morrissey both of Illinois. She was lovingly called "Nana" by several grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 27, 2023, at her home. Interment will be at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Illinois at a later date.
