Catherine Eleanor Thompson

Catherine Eleanor Thompson, 86, passed away at North Florida Regional Medical Center on December 29, 2016. Eleanor was born in Hancock County Ohio on August 27, 1930 and moved to Bradenton, FL in 1955. She and her husband, Dell Ward, had 5 children. Eleanor was a homemaker and seamstress and was involved in the American Legion and VFW for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband James Thompson in 2007 and her oldest son, Gregory Ward in 1995. Survivors include her daughters: Patricia (Kenneth) McClain and Shelley Knestaut; sons: Douglas and Kevin Ward. She is also survived by a step-daughter, Carol Ruth (Dave) Leahy and a step-son, James Thompson, Jr., as well as, nine grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
