Mr. Cecil Robert SloverMr. Cecil Robert Slover age 77, of Hampton passed away Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Malcom Randall VA Medical Center in Gainesville following an extended illness. Mr. Slover was born on March 8, 1933 in Keansburg, NJ to the late Cecil Henry and Lillian Winthers Slover and moved to Bradford County 12 years ago from South Carolina. Cecil retired after 29 years of service with Hess Gas Company as a truck maintenance supervisor and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a Catholic, an avid NASCAR fan and attended Bible Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Rosa Slover. Survivors are his wife of 10 years Barbara Mobley Slover of Hampton; daughter: Sherry Holland (Perry) of Hernando, MS; sons: Robert Allen Slover (Susan) of Killingsworth, CT; William James Slover (Susan) of Maxville; Michael Slover (Jane) of Millburn, NJ; brother: William Paul Slover (Helen) of Morganville, CT; twenty seven grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren. Extended family: Melissa Davis (Scott); Melody Elton (Jamie); Roger Green (Glenda); David Bridges (Shana); Kevin Mobley (Chrissy). The family will receive friends in the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 from 5-7 PM. Funeral services will be on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the DEWITT C. JONES CHAPEL with Brother Roger Worten officiating.
