Mr. Cecil Lee West age 82, of Starke died July 4, 2012 at the Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center in Lake City. Mr. West was born in Gonzales, Texas to the late Elmer Lee and Hazel (Harwood) West. He had served in the United States Air force for 2 years and in 1992 he had moved to Starke from Georgia, where had retired as a Lineman. Mr. West attended the Sampson City Church of God and had been a member of the IBEW 84 in Georgia for 50 years. He was preceded in death by three siblings. Survivors are his wife of 48 years; Jeanette (Crews) and his brother; Carlton West of Cuero, Texas. Mr. West also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sampson City Church of God with Reverend Gene Bass and Mr. Willard Crawford (Nephew) officiating. Viewing will be held prior to the services beginning. Burial will follow at the Crosby Lake Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that contributions please be made to the Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center, 6037 W US Highway 90.
