Mr. Charles Stewart Browning age 63 of Starke passed away Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at Haven Hospice Custead Care Center in Orange Park. He was born June 5, 1960, in Tampa to Vollie and Virginia (Meadows) Browning and had proudly served in the United States Navy. Prior to retirement he was employed with the Department of Corrections. Charles was preceded in death by his mother and a son Jerrimy Sumner. His survivors are his wife of 23 years Tammy (Snipes) Browning and their sons, Vollie S. Browning of Starke, Kristopher K. Browning of Orlando, Christopher J. Sumner of Jacksonville, Travis R. Horne of Bradford County; father, Vollie Browning (Debbie) of Starke; daughter, Chanda Sumner, siblings Malina Browning and Stephen Browning all of Bradford County, Travis Browning of Charlotte, North Carolina. He was lovingly called "grandpa" by grandchildren, Xavier Sumner and Elijah Sumner along with great granddaughter Luna Sumner. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon, Monday, October 2, 2023, at Bayless Highway Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Conner officiating. Interment will follow in Sapp Cemetery.
