Mr. Charles Lee Kendrick, age 83 of Green Cove Springs, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2012. He was born February of 1929 to late Oliver and Rachel (Mullins) Kendrick in Clintwood, Virginia. Mr. Kendrick had been a resident of Green Cove Springs since 2002, coming from St. Augustine. Prior to that, he had lived Bostwick for 35 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in Japan. He enjoyed music and playing the guitar and mandolin. Many times, Mr. Kendrick would visit nursing homes to play for the residents. He attended Little Ruth Old Regular Baptist Church. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by a son, Larry Kendrick, 3 sisters and 7 brothers. Mr. Kendrick is survived by his wife of 35 years, Jean Kendrick, children, Linda Marissas of Michigan, Vicki Moreno, and Dwayne Lee both of St. Augustine, a brother, John Kendrick of Bostwick, as well as 6 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, September 20, 2012 at Little Ruth Old Regular Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Helm-Gallagher Funeral Home in Green Cove Springs.
