Dr. Charles "Milt" McCurdy Jr. died on November 28th, 2023 in his home in Starke, Florida at the age of 66. Upon completing his residency, he was stationed at Camp Lejeune Naval Hospital in North Carolina from 1988 to 1991 in obstetrics. After his discharge from the military as a Lieutenant Commander, he joined the University of Arizona to complete a fellowship in maternal fetal medicine. After completing his fellowship, he moved to Fort Myers, Florida in 1994. Charles is survived by his wife, Cynthia; his three children, Pamela Bennett, Charles "Ryan" McCurdy, and Kelsey Murphy; and two grandchildren, Nathan Bennett and Patrick McCurdy. He is also survived by his sister, Judith LouAnne Dittmer of Fort Myers, as well as several nieces and nephews.Milt and Cindy met in 1984, and were married in 1987. They had 36 wonderful years together. Family was of the utmost importance to Milt as he spent countless hours coaching Pop Warner teams with his son, Little League teams with his daughters, and watching his two grandsons grow. He was a diehard Gator fan, football season ticket holder, and never gave up on them (even if he had to say, "Maybe next year" many times). After spending 20 years in Fort Myers working and raising his family, Milt and Cindy retired to Starke, Florida in 2014. They lived together on a peaceful lake, surrounded by nature, and closer to his beloved Gator teams. Milt was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, coach, colleague, and friend.
