Obituary

Charles "Charlie" Nabywaniec Charles Charlie Nabywaniec, 65, of Starke, Florida passed away on January 26, 2013 in Gainesville at North Florida Regional Hospital after a brief illness. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maxine and Gordon Thomson. He was a native and resident of Jacksonville for most of his life. He and Mary Ann moved to Starke in the early 90's and loved the lake-life. A graduate of Ribault High School, Class of 66, he was an avid fisherman, camper, and golfer. He loved NASCAR and Gator Football. Charlie was dispatcher for the Florida Highway Patrol for 11 years and retired from the Kmart Corporation as a District Manager and Lost Prevention Manager after 38 years. He had been President of the Crystal Lake Homesites Association, a Committeeman for Boy Scout Troop #31, and was involved for many years with his greatest joy, the Greater Jacksonville Kingfish Tournament, of which he was the 2011 Tournament Chairman. Charlie is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary Ann, his sister, Karen Wiley (Frank), numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in law, nieces and nephews, and cousins. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday (January 31st) at George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4747 Main Street, Jacksonville, FL 32206.
