Mr. Charles Kenneth Neal, Jr. age 68, of Keystone Heights died October 17, 2012 at the Shands of UF in Gainesville following an extended illness. Mr. Neal was born in Jacksonville on December 7, 1943 to the late Charles Kenneth and Lillian Nadene Neal, Sr. and had served in the United States Air Force. Prior to moving to Keystone Heights, Mr. Neal was a longtime resident of Jacksonville where he had retired from the JAX NAS as a Computer Specialist. He was a member of the Hope Baptist Church, loved driving race cars, and the western style. Mr. Neal is survived by his wife of 48 years, Ruth (Hutto) Neal of Keystone Heights, children; Cheryl Parrish and her husband Michael of Gastonia, NC, Shannon Jones and her husband John and Danielle Neal one brother; Hank Neal and his wife Judy all of Jacksonville, one sister; Kathy Peavy and her husband Michael of Tallahassee. Mr. Neal also leaves behind his grandchildren; Rebecca Gearty, Hailey Roberts, Dale Goodman, great grandchildren; Maybree Tillett, Jonathan Gearty, Liam Gearty, and Natalie Strickland. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 19, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hope Baptist Church with Pastor Larry Strickland officiating. Viewing will begin one hour prior the services.
