Mr. Charles Joseph Pollard, Sr., age 74, of Keystone Heights passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the V.A. Hospital in Gainesville. He was born in Daytona on July 10, 1940 to the late James and Leona Pollard. Mr. Pollard had served in the United States Army as a Chef and retired after 20 years of dedicated service. After moving to Keystone Heights from Live Oak 19 years ago, Mr. Pollard continued his services as a Chef by working at the Montgomery and Lake Swan Camps. He was also a member of Lake Area Bible Church and the American Legion; he enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling. Survivors for Mr. Pollard are his wife of 19 years, Shirley (Ray); two sons, Charles "Charlie" Pollard, Jr., his wife Janna Kay and Forrest Duncan all of Hortense, Georgia. Also left behind is one brother, Fred Pollard of Orlando, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Thursday, December 11, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Lake Area Bible Church with Pastor Danny Smartt officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the beginning of services. Interment will follow at the Keystone Heights Cemetery.
