Mr. Charles Joseph Post, Sr., 89 of Green Cove Springs, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2023. Mr. Post was born June 13, 1934 in Michigan City, Indiana to parents Leo William and Agnes (Turek) Post. Charles moved to Orangedale in 1951 with his parents. He married his wife, Eunice Evelyn Turner on May 15, 1955. Together they had two children, Donna Jean Post and Charles Joseph Post, Jr. He was a member of Wards Creek Church. Charles worked for ITT-Rayonier for over 39 years where he received several awards for his work. He was also a Forest Supervisor for 22 years, a member of the St. Johns Timber Association for 42 years where he served as director for 20 years. He served on the advisory committee for the St. Augustine Technical Center and volunteered for the Boy Scouts and 4-H. His wife of over 44 years preceded him in death in December 1999. He leaves behind his loving companion, Nancy Flowers, daughter Donna Jean Pringle, son, Charles Joseph Post, Jr. (Mary Jane), five grandchildren, and twelve great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 2023 in the Helm-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
