Mr. Charles William Wallace, Jr. 90 of the Post Masters Village in Keystone Heights passed away at his home on February 10, 2012 following an extended illness. Mr. Wallace was born in Clifton Forge, Virginia on November 2, 1921 to the late Charles William and Roxie Nicely Wallace, Sr. Mr. Wallace had served in the United States Army during World War II, was a combat veteran of the Battle of the Bulge, and was also a tank commander of the Headquarters Company of the 9th Army Division. Prior to his retirement he was a Small Business Owner, a Salesman for many years, and later became a part time farmer. His memberships include the Lighthouse Global Ministries in Waldo, VFW, and the Post Masters Village. Mr. Wallace enjoyed Blue Grass Music but most of all he loved being a Papaw. His wife of 68 years, Charlotte Wallace had preceded him in death in November 2011. His siblings Georgia Vess, Pauline Clark, and Genoa Jenkins had also preceded him in death. Survivors are his daughter; Ann Perry and her husband Ed of Keystone Heights, son; David Wallace and his wife Debra of Holden, West Virginia. He also leaves behind his grandsons; David Wallace, Jr. and his wife Tracey, John Paul Morrison and his wife Jenny, Eddie Morrison and his wife Cyndi, two step grandsons; Todd Perry and his wife Becky, Eddie Perry, II and his wife Julia, and six great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mr. Wallace will be held on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 1 Oclock in the Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Joe Murphy officiating. Viewing will begin at 12 Noon. Burial will follow at the Keystone Heights Cemetery.
