Charles M. Zebendon, 80 of Pomona Park, FL, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023 inSt. Augustine. Charles was born September 9, 1943 in Alabama City, Alabama to parentsRussell and Mildred (Lewis) Zebendon. He has an older sister Earnesteen (Zebendon) Gambleand a younger brother Chris Zebendon.Charles loved to be out on the water either fishing or crabbing. He loved Florida Gator footballand he loved, and was very proud of his family.Charles is preceded in death, in addition to his parents, by his best friend and brother-in-law,Ronnie Gamble and son-in-law Dan Crowley.Charles is survived by a large and loving family, his wife of 62 years, Mattie (Thomason)Zebendon, three daughters, Cynthia (Zebendon) Vaughn of Jacksonville, FL, Patricia(Zebendon) Crowley of St. Augustine, FL, and Donna (Zebendon) Masters Driggers, (husband -Kenny Driggers) of Sandersville, GA. Eight grandchildren, Scott Vaughn (wife - Brandy),Anthony Vaughn (wife - Katie), Jennifer McQuaig, Lee McQuaig (wife- Ashley), Sam McQuaig,Katie McQuaig, Dillon Masters (wife - Emily) and Austin Masters. Eight great grandchildren,Ayress Vaughn, Jackson Vaughn, Maverick Vaughn, Caden Vaughn, Noah Vaughn and CharliMcQuaig.He is also survived by his sister Ernesteen (Zebendon) Gamble, Brother, Chris Zebendon (Wife- Pat) and Half-Sister, Megan Zebendon, along with sixteen nieces and nephews.His physical presence in our lives will be missed, but forever cherished. Our comfort will comein that one day we will join him in Heaven.A Memorial Service will be held at Mill Creek Baptist Church in St. Augustine on December 8th@ 3:30 pm.
