Charlie "Pete" Boykin Barefield, Jr. 68, of Cross Creek passed away at his residence on Saturday, November 15, 2014. He was born in Augusta, GA, but resided in Cross Creek since 2002. Pete retired from Perry Roofing Contractors of Gainesville and was a member of Citra First Baptist Church.Pete is survived by his wife Brenda Barefield, his sons Alex Barefield of Cross Creek, Brandon Dewey, and Stephen Dewey both of Gainesville, his daughters Rhonda Webb, and Kimberly Smith both of Georgia, Emily Barefield of Cross Creek and Valerie Lloyd of Gainesville, 9 grandchildren Eric Webb, Delynn Brantley, Ashley Clements, Christina Dunn, Mikaela Rodriguez, Jamie Smith, Ben Smith, Jaxon Lloyd and Trinity Lloyd as well as 21 great-grandchildren.Visitation for Mr. Barefield will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 18 from 5 pm until 7 pm with funeral services to be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 19, 2014 in the Forest Meadows Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Craig Jacobs officiating.
