Obituary

Mr. Aaron Charney Williams age 85 of Starke passed away Monday, March 30, 2009. He was born in Baker County on March 8, 1924 to the late Roy and Estelle Dowling Williams and was a longtime resident of Bradford County. Mr. Williams was the owner/operator of Williams Jewelry in Starke and served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a long time member of the American Legion Post, and was a member of the Bradford County Sheriffs Department Mounted Posse. Survivors are his wife of 63 years Milta Cooper Williams of Starke; daughters: Brenda Williams Griffis (Ellis) and Vicki Williams Skinner (David) all of Starke; son: David Williams (Linda) of Starke; grandchildren: David Williams, Jr.; Lisa Wilson; Dana Greene; Brenda Norman; Stephanie Catalano; and Tracy Moore; thirteen great grandchildren; sisters: Velma Powell of South Carolina; Lyvonne Stidham of Indiana; Venera Brown of Worthington Springs; brothers: Roy E. Williams of Glenn St. Mary; Dwight Williams of Green Cove Springs. The family will receive friends at the JONES-GALLAGHER FUNERAL HOME, 514 E. NONA ST. STARKE ON Wednesday, April 1, 2009 from 6-8 PM. Funeral services for Mr. Williams will be on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 2:00 PM in First Baptist Church, 163 W. Jefferson St. Starke with Reverend Scott Crook, Dr. Rodney Coe, and Reverend Johnny Yarbrough officiating. Flowers are acceptable or donations may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd., Gainesville, FL 32606.
