Obituary

Cheryl Marie Foxx was born on April 26, 1950 in Fort Pierce, Florida to the late Thomas Sr. and Emma Foxx. She attended St. Lucie County Public Schools and graduated from Lincoln Park Academy in 1967. Upon graduating, she attended Florida A&M University on a Presidential Scholarship. Cheryl returned to Tallahassee in 1974 where she enjoyed careers in the U.S. Army Reserve, Florida A&M University and the United States Postal Service, where she later retired. Cheryl was an avid reader, lifelong learner, and lover of music.Cheryl peacefully departed this life on the morning of Monday, December 1. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, Thomas Sr. and Emma Louise Foxx.Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Cheri (Tony) Glynn of Atlanta, GA and Gina (Adrian) Oliver of Orlando, FL; four grandchildren, Kendrick Butler of Ocala, FL and Chaunsey Gardner-Flythe, Ashley Oliver and Adrian Oliver of Orlando, FL; great-granddaughter Taylor Marie Foxx of Orlando FL; Sister, Virginia (Robert) Holtz of Atlanta, GA; Brothers Thomas (Hazel) Foxx, Jr. of Gainesville, FL and Derek (Deborah) Foxx of Port St. Lucie, FL; Goddaughter (and niece), LaShandri Foxx-Newman of Gainesville, FL.; Nephews, Marcus Foxx of Mobile, AL, Thomas (Starlette) Foxx III of Atlanta, GA, Raymone Price of Fort Walton Beach, FL, Derek C. Foxx, currently serving with the U.S. Army in Fort Lewis, WA, Sybrone Foxx and Geno Thomas of Port St. Lucie, FL and Quinton Franklin, currently serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Stewart, GA; Nieces LaToya (Jonathan) Foxx-Barnes of Leavenworth, KS, Symone Foxx and Morgan and Alexis Thomas of Port St. Lucie, FL; Uncles David (Patricia) Foxx of Cincinatti, OH and Leon Hepburn of Fort Pierce, FL; Aunts Betty (Leo) Robinson, Pearl Lee and Charlotte Lee of Fort Pierce, FL; and a host of cousins and friends.A memorial service will be held for Mrs. Foxx 11:00 AM Saturday, December 13, 2014 atthe Forest Meadows Funeral Home Chapel in Gainesville, Florida (725 NW 23rd Ave).
