Cheryl "Sherry" Denise Scott

Mrs. Cheryl "Sherry" Denise Scott age 59 of Lawtey passed away Friday, May 15, 2020, at Haven Hospice E. T. York Care Center in Gainesville following a brief illness. She was born March 25, 1961, in Starke to Clifton and Betty (Olive) Prevatt. Sherry was employed with Walmart for 22 years working in numerous departments where she was also known for her beautiful smile. She grew up and was a member of Air Park Baptist Church where she had played the piano and enjoying singing gospel music with her mom and grandfather Leroy Olive. Sherry enjoyed working, watching birds and crocheting dolls and blankets, but most off all she loved her church and family. Her father had preceded her in death. Left behind is her loving husband of 37 years Larry Scott of Lawtey; three children Derrick Scott of Texas, Larry Scott II (Laura) of Minnesota, and Tori Scott of Arkansas; her mother Betty (Olive) Groves of Starke along with two brothers Clifton Darrell Prevatt and Michael Derrick Prevatt both of North Carolina and two loving sisters Latonya Prevatt of Starke and Jennifer Tyler of Texas. She was also lovingly called "Mee-Ma" by five granddaughters and five grandsons. The family will have private services due the Covid-19 pandemic.
