Christine S. Carr

Christine (Chris) LeSueur Carr, age 102, was born in Plymouth, New Hampshire, on August 3, 1922, to Aretas B. and Violet P. Southerland. She attended schools in Plymouth, New Hampshire, Laconia, New Hampshire, and Gainesville, Florida (University of Florida).

Chris moved to Gainesville, Florida in 1967. She was a dedicated Nurse Practitioner and retired as the Nursing Director for Maternal, Infant, and Family Planning Projects; she also served four years on the Board of the National Family Planning Council. She enjoyed biking, knitting for the homeless, and sports of all kinds, especially the Florida Gators.

She is preceded in death by sons James. B. Hartman and Robert J. Hartman and husbands R. H. Hartman, Benjamin H. LeSueur, and Joe R. Carr. She is survived by her beloved son William P. Hartman; stepchildren Walter Carr (Shelley), Connie Ferrell, and Joe Carr. She is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other relatives.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Northwest Baptist Church, 5514 NW 23rd Ave, Gainesville, Florida.
