Obituary

Parents: Claude Clifford Keckler and Dollie Phillips-Keckler of Vicksburg, Michigan

Siblings: Clara was one of 9 children, standing in 5th from the top. Her siblings, in order of birth are Charles Keckler, Betty (died at birth), Barbara Simonds, David (died at birth), Clara, Donna Winn, Claudean Hagadone, Claude (Snooks) Keckler, Dollie (died at birth), and Patricia Salisbury.

Clara, also lovingly known as Carrot, or Clarann, graduated the 8th grade, and was self-taught through-out life. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, mother, wife, grandmother, great-grandmother, and beyond. She loved taking care of her family her entire 96 years. She was an early artist in life and has many preserved drawings for her family to cherish. She met the love of her life, Herman James Doorlag Sr., at a dance. The couple married on July 8,1950. They were a great couple on the dance floor, as well as in life. Clara loved crocheting and travel, even if it was a short ride in the country side. She and her husband of 69 years and 4 months, traveled to every state, except Hawaii and Alaska. They even made it to Canada and Costa Rica.

Clara was mostly easy going, hard-working, and loving, just to name a few attributes. Her sense of humor and sweetness stayed with her to the end. She was and always will be loved by her family.

Clara and Herman have 6 children: Barbara Kay Doorlag-Blett of Kalamazoo, Michigan (deceased), Herman James Doorlag, Jr. of West Palm Beach, Florida, Bonnie Jean Doorlag-Rife and husband, Michael, of Interlachen, Florida, Linda Ann Doorlag-Nadeau and husband, Donald, of Trenton, Florida, Debra Lynn Doorlag-Shellabarger of Okeechobee, Florida, and Rodney Lane Doorlag, and wife, Cynthia, of New Port Richey, Florida.

Clara was blessed with many grandchildren:

17 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren (and still counting).

Clara is survived by one sister, 5 of her children and all of her grandchildren, except one, and all of her great-grandchildren, except 2.
