Clarence Bradley "C.B." Register, 89, passed away on Thursday May 29, 2014 in Jacksonville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday June 2, 2014 at the graveside in Greenlawn Cemetery, 4300 Beach Blvd., with Dr. Terry Gore officiating. Mr. Register was born in Rosehill, N.C. on April 26, 1925 to Walter Register & Nancy Raynor Register. He was a Jacksonville resident since 1960. Mr. Register retired from CSX Rail Transportation after 42 1/2 years of service, including service with Atlantic Coastline, Seaboard Coastline and finally CSX. He also worked as a vet assistant and at Montgomery Ward in the garden shop. Mr. Register loved fixing up lawn mowers, edgers and such and keeping his and his daughter's yards cut and neat. He was always willing to give a helping hand to those in need and would give you the shirt off his back. He loved his wife of 64 1/2 years and loved and cherished his children. There was no better daddy and husband than he. Mr. Register is survived by his wife, Tootsie Caines Register and his daughter, Deborah Ann Register. He was preceded in death by his sons David Alan Register & Bradley Andrew Register; his granddaughters Adrianne Eileen Register & Rachael Naomi Register; brothers Henry Lee, Edwin & Walter, Jr. a sister, Elizabeth and his parents. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Community Hospice of N/E Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32257; or to your local hospice facility.
