Mr. Clark S. Stovall, Sr. age 81 of Keystone Heights passed away Monday, March 25, 2019, at his home following an extended illness. He was born January 29, 1938, in McRae, Georgia to Samp and Marie (Tomberlin) Stovall and has been a resident of Keystone Heights for the past forty-nine years. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Stovall was a railroad conductor in Jacksonville for forty-two years. He was also a member of Keystone Community Church and many years ago he was active with the Keystone CB group and he also used to enjoy traveling and camping. Mr. Stovall was known for his love of baseball and how he used to coach and play ball with the kids plus he would let everyone know his favorite teams were the Atlanta Braves and Chicago Cubs; he also worked with a group of men that built handicapped ramps for those in need. But most of all Mr. Stovall loved spending time with his family. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his first wife of forty-eight years Barbara (Troup) Stovall and three brothers Raymond, Bobby and Marcus Stovall. Left behind is his wife of thirteen years Audrey (Ingerson) Stovall of Keystone Heights; three children Phyllis Strube (Bruce) of Keystone Heights, Peggy NesSmith (Stan) of Elmore, AL and Clark S. Stovall, Jr. of Melrose; three siblings Vivian Miles of Aiken, SC, Sara Davis of Macon, GA and Jerry Stovall of Columbia, SC. He was lovingly called "Papa" by his grandchildren Chris, Scott (Brittany) and Dillon (Brittany) NesSmith of AL, Ken Strube (Amy) of Las Vegas, NV and Ryan Stovall (Jamie) of Thomasville, GA along with thirteen great grandchildren. Also left behind are five stepchildren Randy Wood (Lisa), Gail Hicks (Wesley) and Jennifer Gleason (Ron) all of NH and Jeannine Sheehan (Scott) and Timothy Wood (April) of NC. Viewing for Mr. Stovall will be Thursday, March 28, 2019, from 5-7 p.m. at Jones-Gallagher Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Friday, March 29, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. in the Keystone Community Church with Pastor Ray Peters officiating. Interment will be held at a later date.
