Mr. Clifford John Jones, age 73, of Jacksonville passed away unexpectedly at his home Thursday, August 31, 2023. He was born February 10, 1950, in Wildwood, Florida to Clifford P. and Jean Francuz Jones. Mr. Jones served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He was very proud to serve his country. Prior to his retirement he was employed with GRU as a Lineman. Mr. Jones was raised in the Baptist faith. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His father, Clifford P. Jones, and brother, David Jones, preceded him in death. His survivors are his sons Scott F. Jones (Jordanne) of Lake Butler and Mark Edward Jones of Brooker; his mother Jean Jones of Oxford; siblings Rosemary Jowers and Steve Jones, both of Oxford, and Paula Redding of Sparta, Tennessee. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren- Cat, Megan, Gavyn, Cameron, Tristan, Braylon, and Hazen; and also by his six great-grandchildren who all lovingly refer to him as their "PopPop". A memorial service will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a memorial donation to a Veterans Charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Jones.
