Mr. Comer Knight Suggs age 90, of Hampton Lake passed away Friday, August 9, 2013 at Shands Hospital in Starke. Mr. Suggs was born on August 29, 1922 in Jacksonville to the late Arthur and Sarah (Lumpkin) Suggs. He had served in the United States Navy during WWII and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Starke. In 1973, Mr. Suggs moved to Hampton Lake from Jacksonville, and then retired in 1977 from the Seaboard Coastline Railroad. Preceding him death was his wife of 67 years, Joyce (Waddell), and his son in law Stanley Herrington. Survivors are his daughter, Nancy Herrington of Jacksonville; son, Phillip and Glenna Suggs of Keystone Heights; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, and many nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 10:00 a.m. at Santa Fe Cemetery on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, with his daughter, Nancy Herrington officiating. The family will receive friends following the graveside service at the home of Mr. Comer Suggs.
