Mr. Curtis Lamar Crawford age 55, of Starke passed away Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Hospice Custead Care Center in Orange Park. Mr. Crawford was born in Starke on August 17, 1958, and was a Lieutenant with the Gainesville Fire and Rescue Department. He began his Fire and Rescue career in Starke which lead him to dedicating the past 29 years to the City of Gainesville. Curtis was an active member of Kingsley Lake Baptist Church; he loved being on the lake skiing and just doing for others. He was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Crawford and one brother, Steve Crawford. Survivors are his wife of 30 years, Ronda (Stern) Crawford and their three children, Ashley Browning (Derek), Amber Reichert (Hunter), and Austin Crawford all of Starke. Also left behind is his mother, Alsine (Crews) Crawford of Kingsley Lake; one brother, Dennis Crawford (Joan), and his father and mother in law, Roland and Lucinda Stern also all of Starke. Funeral services for Mr. Crawford will be at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Kingsley Lake Baptist Church with Pastor Zeb Cook and Pastor Jeremy Crawford officiating. Interment will follow at Kingsley Lake Cemetery.
