Obituary

Mrs. Dana M. Napier, age 36, lifelong resident of Starke, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013 at Shands UF in Gainesville. She was born October of 1976 in Gainesville to Michael and Lynne Newsome. Dana was a graduate of the University of Florida and had received a Bachelors degree in Public Relations. She was involved with many clubs and organizations. Dana enjoyed the art of photography. She is survived by her husband of 2 years, Shane Napier, her parents, Michael and Lynne (Marzloff) Newsome, newborn son, Zander Michael Napier, step-children, Ryan Napier and Hailey Napier, a sister, Chris Whitehead and husband, Terry, nieces, Kaylie Whitehead and Maci Whitehead all of Starke and a nephew, Hunter Whitehead of Marion County. Dana is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. A memorial service will be held 4:00PM, Saturday, August 17, 2013 at Madison Street Baptist Church with Brother Justin Kirksey officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made in Danas memory to www.giveforward.com. The following is a special poem written just for Dana: We tried for so long, I thought it would never beOur little family of two, I so wanted it to be a family of threeWe found out January 1, 2013 that our dreams came trueOh how I long for the day that Ill finally get to meet youYes, Mommy loved you from the very startI want you to know that you already hold Mommys heartI cannot wait to find out what you are going to beI guess for now Ill just have to wait and seeMommy found out if you are a boy or girl todayMy heart was filled with such joy as I watched the pink balloons float awayYou are going to be a Mamas boy this I already knowMommy is going to spoil you to death because I love you soZander is the name that Daddy and I picked outBut you will always be Mommys Little Taco without a doubtIm on my way to hospital because things just dont feel rightThis was never the plan but I guess some things you just have to rewriteWell it looks like we are going to be here for a whileBut to make sure you are ok, Mommy will do this with a smileI was so happy to find out you would be born on August 10, 2013But what happened after your birth was unforeseenMy 5 pounds 14 ounce beautiful baby boyKnowing you are finally in this world my heart is filled with joyZander, how I wish I could kiss you, hold you, and tell you it will all be okI want you to know how much I truly love you and how much I wish I could stayZander, Mommy wants you to have fun with Daddy, love, laugh and playShane please tell my Little Taco how much his Mommy loves him each and everydayEven though Im not with you, your life will be filled with so much loveAnd if you ever start to miss me just know Mommy is watching you from abovePlease dont be sad for me, Mommy is in the most wonderful place It is there Ill be watching and waiting until Mommy can hold you and kiss that beautiful face. hide
