Darcia Fair Wells age 60, of Starke passed away in Gainesville on Sunday, November 20, 2016. She was born in Winter Park to the late Edward Morrell and Gladys (Wilson) Wells. She had been a longtime resident of Starke even though she had disabilities she lived independently in her own apartment following the death of her mother. Darcia was a member of New Smyrna Baptist Church and enjoyed playing card games, computer games, and doing crafts. Darcia was very active in ARC community, she was an original member of the theater group Sunshine Players, held many officer positions for the Aktion Club (A Kiwanis Club Community Service Group), and was known as Darcia "Scoop" Wells for her writing in the Sunshine In The News Newsletter. She was also known in the community for the quilts she would make and give away to others. Being a registered voter in Bradford County was a huge accomplishment for Darcia, and she gave Terry Vaughn all the credit. She is survived by her brother, Garry Wells of Starke and his two daughters Lydia and Michelle. Also left behind are her family and friends at the ARC of Bradford County along with her close friend Perry Sutton. A visitation for Darcia will be held on Monday, November 28, 2016 from 1-3 p.m. in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations to be made to the ARC of Bradford County.
