With much sadness, we announce the death of our mother, Darlene Tomlinson. She passed away on June 7, 2024 at the age of 86. She was born the only daughter to her parents, John and Dorothy (Wall) McDonald of Chicago, IL who had two sons Robert McDonald and Jack McDonald a decade earlier. She has loved and missed them ever since. She married Jim Tomlinson and had twin daughters at the age of 19. They started their lives together in Chicago in the late 50s. Another daughter and they became a family of 5. They moved to FL in 1969, and found their forever home on Little Lake Keystone. She worked as a secretary for attorney firms in Starke and Gainesville before becoming Judicial Assistant for Judge George H Pierce until her retirement in 1994. Smart, beautiful, funny, with a flair for the dramatic would describe her well. She and Jim lived a wonderful life together and provided so much love, laughter and inspiration to their children and loved ones. They will definitely be a hard act to follow.She was proceeded in death by her husband of 63 years in 2021. She leaves behind her three daughters, Terri Seymour, Lorri (Paul) Parsons and Susan Tomlinson (Steve Orr). She was also Granny to Tyler (Ashley) Parsons and Gigi to their sons, Kyle and Nathan. Also left to mourn her passing are many nieces, nephews, cousin (June Beverly, Melrose FL), dear friends far and wide, and so many church members of which they have served and worshipped with for over 40 years. A church service and memorial will be held in July 2024 at Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Lemke presiding.
