Darrell Balding

Darrell Leon Balding, age 90, passed away on Friday February 5, 2021 at Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.The family will receive friends for a visitation on Friday February 12th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Home, 4140 University Blvd., S. A Masonic Funeral Rites Ceremony will be held during the visitation, at 6:00 p.m.Darrell was born on September 25, 1930 in Albion, Illinois to Alva Balding & Anna (Ramsey) Balding. After High School, Darrell joined the U.S. Army and served his country proudly during the Korean Conflict. He went on to work for many years for the Ford Motor Company as an inspector.Darrell is survived by his wife, Mona Balding; his children Brenda Allgood & Jayne Harriman; his step-children Danny Roberts, Roxanne Roberts, Scott Roberts & Lynette Benoit; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren & 1 great-great grandchild. He is also survived by a host of step-grandchildren, other extended family & fiends.Darrell was preceded in death by a child, Dana Balding & by a step-child, Randy Roberts.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Darrell's name to a charity of your choice..Receiving FriendsGeorge H.
