Mr. Daryn Stephen Gay age 42 of Starke passed away at his home Thursday, July 11, 2019, suddenly. He was born February 14, 1977, in Gainesville to Stephen and Maxine (Dixon) Gay. Daryn was a lifelong resident of Starke and graduated from Bradford County High School in 1995. He then completed an additional four years of education and apprenticeships to become a Journeyman which led to his career as an electrician for West Fraser Company in Lake Butler. Daryn was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Starke and enjoyed fishing, socializing, listening to country music and was an avid Florida Gator fan. In addition to his father he was also preceded in death by his best friend Shawn Lee. Daryn is survived by his children Brooklyn Gay and Devyn Gay; his mother Maxine (Dixon) Gay; a brother Trevor Gay (Sarah Spalding), a sister Jency Norman (Kenneth), a grandson Langston Allen of Lawtey and his step-daughter Chloe Henley. Also left behind are his paternal grandparents Harold and Jane Gay of Starke, his wife Amanda Box of Lawtey along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends that will miss him dearly. Visitation for Daryn will be held on Monday, July 15, 2019, from 5-7 p.m. in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00a.m., Tuesday, July 16, 2019, in the First Presbyterian Church of Starke with Reverend Diane Wilson officiating. A private burial will take place at Crosby Lake Cemetery.
