David Morgan Jackson, 69, Architect with Jackson-Reeger Architects, born August 26th, 1942, passed away on Thursday, August 2nd, 2012 at home. David was a wonderful father, grandfather, brother, friend, and architect who designed The Harn Museum, and The Florida Farm Bureau, many UF buildings, Kanapaha Middle School, homes in The Bahamas, and numerous schools and additions in the North Florida area. David grew up in Cedarville, Michigan and St. Petersberg, Florida, where he was a accomplished pole vaulter and track star. David was an expert rifleman in the US Army between 1960-63, and spent time in Hanau, Germany, where he attained the rank of SP5.David married Mary Jackson shortly after and began work as an architect in Gainesville with Art Campbell and Associates, then Sally Jackson Reeger and Associates, and eventually with Jackson Reeger. As a 1970 UF graduate of the School of Architecture, David loved the Florida Gators and was an avid fan and alumni supporter who never, ever missed a Gator game. He was an adventurous, gregarious, gentle, calm, and reassuring man with an easy sense of humor who made everyone around him feel welcomed and loved. He was often found quietly smiling a knowing smile, and could put anyone at ease with his kindness and laughter. He is the father of Stephanie, Camille, and David Michel. His brother, Richard H. Jackson, lives in Owego, New York.At David's request, his ashes will be spread by family members equally between Gainesville, St. Petersberg, and the waters of Lake Huron, Michigan. His Gainesville service will be held the weekend of August 18-19th.The date and time of his service will be Sunday, August 19th at 3pm at the home David's son: 3029 NW 38th Street Gainesville, Florida 32606.
