David Joseph Schmidt Sr.

Memorial services for David Joseph Schmidt Sr., 74, who passed away on December 25, 2015, will be held Friday at 2:00 PM in Evergreens Garden Cloister Chapel with Father Adam Kasela officiating and Deacon Douglas Delzith assisting. Mr. Schmidt was born in Morris, Minnesota and was a longtime resident of Jacksonville, Florida. He was Manager of Fuel Sites with the City of Jacksonville and was a member of St. Stephens First Martyr Catholic Church in Hinesville, Georgia. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Police and was active in the Sheriffs Advisory Council and the Boy Scouts of America. He was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Charlene Collins Schmidt; 2 sons, David Joseph Schmidt Jr., (Brandy), and Eric John Schmidt (Gina); 3 grandchildren, Evin, Brooke, and Bryce.
