Dangerous Dave" SmithBorn 9/27/1950Died 07/04/2023Dave was taken from us very quickly after being diagnosed withlate Stage Metastatic Melanoma in late April.He was pre-deceased by his father, Calvin Cecil "Smitty" Smith and his mother, Betty (Doyle) Queen. He is survived by his beloved wife, Teri Smith, brothers Mike "Raul" Smith & Bob Turner and his sisters Debby Carstensen and Theresa Holloway along with his niece, Nicole Carstensen and several grandchildren, through his marriage to Teri, who loved him dearly.Dave was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida at Broward General Hospital but was mostly raised in Marathon of the Florida Keys. He attended University of Florida pursuing a major in English but is most known for being the singer & guitarist in his band "Dangerous Dave & the Derelicts" for which he wrote most of the songs in their repertoire. He loved classic rock music, sports and the NY Times crossword puzzles. Under his loud & larger than life personality beat a tender heart and he loved his family and friends dearly. He loved going to Lillian's Music Store in downtown Gainesville where he enjoyed Canadian whiskey & good conversation.A Farewell Service will be held at Forest Meadows Funeral Home on Saturday July 8th2023 at 3:00pm followed by a Celebration of Life gathering at Lillians.
