David Michael Starling Age Age 69 Of Keystone Heights

Mr. David "Mike" Starling, age 69 of Keystone Heights passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Haven Hospice in Gainesville. He was born on February 9, 1956, in Jacksonville, Florida to Jack and Vera (Bernardi) Starling.

David made a successful career as a realtor in the real estate industry, where he touched the lives of many. Prior to being a successful real estate agent, he had his own business for 25 years. He was of the catholic faith.

Outside of work, David had a zest for life. Whether it was water skiing or pulling his grandkids and the neighborhood kids on the tube. He loved riding his grandkids on the jet ski and four-wheeler. His grandkids were his pride and joy. He also enjoyed riding his Jeep, attending car shows, fixing things around the house, hunting, or racing go-karts, he embraced every moment and shared his passions with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his siblings Sharon Starling, and Roger Starling.

David is survived by his loving and devoted significant other of 40 years Ruby Carreras of Keystone Heights, sons David Starling Jr. of Jacksonville, Billy (Crystal) Carreras of Trenton; daughter, Christy (Jeff) Appleang; sister, Robin Carter of Vidalia, Georgia; and brother, Robert (Caroline) Starling of York, South Carolina and Aunt Deloris Jonjock from Jacksonville and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was a devoted family man, known affectionately as "Pops" to his grandchildren Caleb, Emily, and Gabe.

The family will gather to honor David with a Memorial Mass, on Saturday January 10, 2026 at 11:00 AM, which will take place at St. William Catholic Church.
