STRICKLAND David Henry Strickland, age 56, an iron worker and musician, passed away unexpectedly, Tuesday, October 18, 2011 at Shands Hospital in Jacksonville. David was born in Jacksonville on November 2, 1954 to John F. Strickland and Norma Mae Frier Strickland, he was the second oldest of four boys.David is survived by his mother Norma Mae Ford of Middleburg, FL.; his son, John (Heather) Strickland of Jacksonville, FL.; daughters: Maria Strickland of Kingsley Lake,FL., Jessie Carter of Jacksonville, FL.; three brothers: Richard (Heidi) Strickland of Port Orange, FL.; Joel (Jan) Strickland of Florahome, FL.; Don (Kathleen) Strickland of Middleburg, Fl.; his Aunt Helen Holmes of MacClenny and one grandchild. David was a member of Iron Workers Local 597 and was an accomplished musician who played keyboards, the guitar and sang.A memorial service honoring Davids life will be held Saturday October 29, 2011, from 1:30pm to 4:00pm at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 4342 Co.
