Dawn "Sharon" Gaines

Mrs. Sharon Gaines age 80, of Starke passed away at her home on Friday, September 16, 2016. She was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on March 12, 1936 to the late James and Fern Wells. Mrs. Gaines was a longtime resident of the area; she was a retired beautician, and owned Sharons Beauty Shop for many years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Starke and enjoyed making arts and crafts. Mrs. Gaines also enjoyed, flowers and fishing but most of all she loved to shop. Her husband L.M. Gaines had preceded her in death in 1986. Survivors are her three sons and their wives; Terry Gaines (Judy) and Richard Gaines (Kathy) all of Starke along with David Gaines (Kathy) of Lincoln, Nebraska. Also left behind are two brothers; Mike and Jimmy Wells; nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 19, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2016 in the DeWitt C. Jones Chapel with Reverend Scott Crook officiating. Interment will follow at Crosby Lake Cemetery.
