Deborah "Debbie" Emig Kauffman

Deborah "Debbie" Emig Kauffman 47, of Starke passed away in the early morning hours of Sunday July 17, 2017. She lost the fight of her life to cancer. She is survived by her husband Kirk Kauffman. Her three sons; Cody Ray Estrada of Jacksonville, Cameron Antonio Estrada of Keystone Heights, and Miguel "Michael" Angel Estrada of Jacksonville. Her parents; Angela "Lucy" Vallencourt (Donald) of Keystone Heights, Douglas Emig (JoAnn) of Callahan. Siblings; Ivy Vallencourt, Holly Bucci, David Vallencourt (Dana), Dana Emig, Derek Emig, and David Emig (Megan) and her maternal grandmother; Eleanor Wellings. She was surrounded by her husband, three sons, parents and siblings who stayed with her until the moment she left this life to move into the next. The pinnacle of her professional career was spent at her families own asphalt paving company where she enjoyed working along-side her siblings, parents and sons as the office administrator. She saw the company move from a raw handshake good ole boy business into a multi-million dollar full service construction company. She was known by all who knew her as a gorgeous woman whose traits live brightly in her three sons. She was a passionate cook who loved celebrating her Italian heritage with spaghetti and meat sauce. The angrier she was at her husband the better the sauce. She made a lot of great sauce. She was a best friend and confidant to her mother and an inspiration and raving fan to her younger brother David. She was also very loving and encouraging to her sister Dana, but most of all, she was a hero to her three sons Cody, Cameron and Michael and a savior to her husband Kirk. There was never a challenge too great, a fight that wasn't worth fighting or a loved one of hers that went unaided or comforted in a time of need. She will be deeply missed and will always be remembered for her beauty (inside and out), her sense of humor, and for the love she poured out every time you talked to her. A visitation will be held at ST. EDWARDS CATHOLIC CHURCH on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary beginning at 6:00. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Edwards Catholic Church with Father Jan Ligeza presiding. Interment will follow in Keystone Heights Cemetery.
