Denise M.
Hodge
Aug 4, 1952 — Mar 16, 2026
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Denise Marie (Britt) Hodge, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who departed this life on March 16, 2026, at the age of 73. Denise was born on August 4, 1952, in Buffalo, New York, and spent her final years in High Springs, Florida.
Denise's creative passions included cake baking and decorating, wood working and crafts of all kinds. Denise had a special love for the ocean, holidays; especially Christmas and an exciting sense of adventure.
Denise dedicated her professional life to serving as an Administrative Manager at the University of Florida in Contracts and Grants. Though she achieved much in her career, her life's work was dedicated to her children and grandchildren.
Denise is survived by her cherished children: daughter Monica Metz, son Phillip Metz, daughter Chrissy Metz, daughter Morgana Witt, and daughter Abigail Hodge. She leaves behind a loving brood of grandchildren, including Megan Hockersmith, Logan Metz, Lawson Metz, Preston Splitt, Dallis Witt, Easton Witt, Gianna Witt, Eden Miller, Kingston Miller and Pyper Miller. Her great-granddaughter, Palmer Rae Hockersmith, will forever carry the warmth of her spirit in their heart. Denise is also survived by her brothers, Jerry Britt and Bruce Britt.
A Mass celebrating Denise's life will be held on March 21, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Holy Faith Catholic Church. Family and friends are invited to gather in reverence to reflect on her life and the treasured memories they shared. Please join us for a reception at the Parish Hall immediately following the service.
Denise will be remembered for her kindness, strength, resilience, humor and unwavering love for her family. She touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
May she rest in eternal peace and glory with our heavenly Father.
