Diego Victor del Valle Bothwell, 82, of Gainesville passed away October 28, 2012. Diego was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico to Victor Manuel del Valle Atiles and Etta Bothwell Gonzalez. Diego attended the University of Florida. He was a graphic artist, having worked at the San Juan Star in Puerto Rico and retired from The Miami News. Diego was a U.S. Marine Corp Sergeant, serving in the Korean War. He is survived by his children Vicki L. Schneider (Pete) of Columbus, OH, Diego V. del Valle, Jr. (Georgina) of Heidelberg, Germany, Jennifer del Valle Glass (James) of Tampa, Cristina M. del Valle of Alachua, brother Gustavo M. del Valle Bothwell, of Puerto Rico, 8 adored grandchildren and beloved nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 at 10:00 AM at Forest Meadows Funeral Home, 725 NW 23rd Ave., Gainesville, Fl with Father Marke Dzien officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 9-10 AM. Burial will follow at Florida National Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
